A message from INGRID NETWORK,
For many of us, New Year's resolutions made with the best of intentions will be forgotten before the holiday decorations come down. Maybe that's because most of our resolutions—cleaning out the garage, pinching pennies, or losing weight—primarily benefit ourselves. Isn't it always more rewarding to help others—especially those who need us most?

That's why I hope that you will resolve, before the clock strikes midnight on the 31st, to improve the lives of animals—both those who share our homes and the countless others who are at risk of abuse, exploitation, and neglect. Please make a special tax-deductible holiday donation today to help PETA mount an even stronger defense of animals who will need our help in 2011.

With your help, we can resolve to conduct more groundbreaking undercover investigations, expand our hard-hitting campaigns, win cruelty convictions, and change corporate policies in order to lessen the suffering of millions of individual animals. Our work depends on the support of caring people like you.

Partnering with PETA to end animal suffering involves more than just a financial contribution. So while I do hope that you can give a gift—of any amount—before the year is over, I also hope that you will consider making the following resolutions to help the special animals in your life—and reduce the suffering of countless others in great need:

If you haven't already done so, have the companion animals who depend on you spayed or neutered. These simple procedures help protect your furry friends from many types of cancer and prevent thousands of animals from being born only to end up on the streets or in severely crowded animal shelters.
If you live with a dog, pledge to walk him or her every day, even when it's cold outside and you'd rather hide under a blanket. If you share your home with cats, set aside some "kitty quality time" every day to play with, brush, and bond with them. It's sometimes too easy to overlook our feline friends, but they can get bored and lonely too.
If there is a lonely "backyard dog" in your neighborhood, try befriending his or her guardian. Start by politely talking to him or her about the dog's needs, such as companionship, daily portions of fresh food and water, and a weatherproof doghouse filled with straw. Many lucky dogs have had their lives changed because someone like you cared enough to intervene.

For the sake of all animals who are at risk of neglect and abuse, please support PETA in 2011 by making a generous tax-deductible gift right now.

Thank you for resolving to share your warmth with animals this holiday season.
